- Fastway Couriers Perth sponsors Ride to Conquer Cancer
Fastway Couriers Perth has proudly sponsored a local cycling team who recently participated in the annual MACA Ride to Conquer Cancer raising funds to support the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
The MACA Ride to Conquer Cancer is the largest cycling fundraiser in Western Australia and has raised over $23.5 million since 2012.
2017 marks the third year Fastway Couriers has sponsored the local “Inspired to Ride” team who successfully raised over $24,500 in this year’s event. All money raised will help world-class scientists continue their vital cancer research at Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in Perth.
Kathy Smith, Fastway Couriers Perth Regional Franchisee says the annual fundraiser is an important one to support.
“Cancer affects everyone in some way whether it be physically or emotionally. The MACA Ride to Conquer Cancer raises much needed funds to further our understanding and development in tackling the disease, while having some fun at the same time. I think it’s a great way to make a difference in the community.”
Over the two day event the two local riders Carina Mcmillen and Jasia Hawkins rode 200 km from Perth to Mandurah camping under the stars and with little rest.
“We’re so proud to ride for such a great cause and we thank Fastway Couriers Perth for their incredible support in helping us reach our fundraising goals. We love riding for our personal fitness but when it comes to riding for a charity the reward is far greater,” Carina said.
